Chris Lathey – Managing Director

Chris Lathey has spent the last 13 years working in the Gibraltar insurance industry. For the first five years, Chris worked for Aon managing both direct writers and captives, in many cases as an executive board director. With such a diverse range of clients, Chris gained extensive knowledge of the local and European market within a relatively short time.

Chris joined Haven as Managing Director in 2008 and is responsible for the Haven operation in Gibraltar, with a focus on finance, quality underwriting and on-going development of the business.


Ingrid Harper – Finance Manager and Company Secretary

Ingrid has over 30 years’ experience in the Gibraltar insurance industry, mainly dealing with financial and regulatory issues, as well as business development and management.

Ingrid worked for 15 years at Norwich Union Gibraltar where most of her insurance knowledge was attained and 10 years for Aon Insurance Managers in Captive Management including holding various Directorships.  She joined Haven in 2014 as Finance Manager and oversees all financial & regulatory functions of the business.


Aoife Mullins – Underwriting Manager

After graduating with a degree in Business (majoring in Risk Management and Insurance) in 2012, Aoife relocated to Gibraltar and has spent the past 5 years working in the insurance industry. Following completion of the Aon graduate programme, Aoife gained experience in captive management, underwriting and business development.

She also completed her ACII exams in 2016 and is a council member on the Gibraltar Insurance Institute (GII).

Aoife joined Haven in 2017 as Underwriting Manager and oversees the underwriting functions of the business.


Joseph O’Connell – Claims Director

Joseph has 17 years’ experience in a combination of law and insurance. Having worked for many years in their UK operations, Joseph joined Haven in 2014 to oversee Haven’s claims operation through its various UK suppliers and established a claims team in Gibraltar. He is responsible for Haven’s Reinsurance Treaty and management of Catastrophic Injury & Large Loss claims.


Alisha Harper – Accounts Executive

Alisha joined Haven as Office Administrator in 2015 and was promoted to Accounts Executive in 2017.  She is responsible for all the Property subsidiary companies, preparing monthly Management Accounts and dealing with all the administrative duties involved.

She also responsible for the claims cash management function in Haven and is currently studying for the CII Certificate.


Mark Stevenson Cert CII – Assistant Underwriter

Mark has over 15 years experience in the UK Insurance market, having gained extensive experience in both the commercial and personal lines sectors.

Mark joined Haven in 2014 and is responsible for a wide range of underwriting and operational functions, alongside assisting the underwriting manager with document and policy production and maintenance.


Vanessa Smith – Compliance Officer

After graduating in Law and Business, Vanessa has spent the past 5 years working within the insurance industry. Vanessa quickly gained detailed knowledge of motor insurance claims at the Innovation Group UK, before moving to Gibraltar in 2012 to further her experience with a local insurance company.

Vanessa joined Haven as Compliance Officer in 2015, and is responsible for Haven’s internal control framework, regulatory and legal compliance, as well as overseeing the audit and complaint functions.



Rupert Hamilton-Walker- Claims Development Lead

Rupert has a background in high risk motor insurance claims, from managing his own team of handlers to specialist technical roles in both Personal Injury and Credit Hire.

Rupert has been part of Haven's claims supplier operation since 2009. He is responsible for managing and leading our claims projects, strategy and development programmes to ensure our claims handing is optimised and continuously improving. He also oversees Haven's various claims suppliers.


Martin Clifton – Claims Controller

Martin has a background of claims, specialising in counter fraud within the high risk motor insurance industry.

Martin has worked within the insurance industry since 2009 and as part of Haven’s claims supplier operation since 2011. Martin joined Haven as our Claims Controller at the start of 2017. He is responsible for overseeing Haven’s various claims suppliers and manages projects to enhance and optimise our claims handling.


Ana Bray – PA/Office Manager

After graduating with a degree in Economics (majoring in Accounting and Finance), Ana worked for the National Statistics Office in Poland for 7 years and has spent the last 10 years working locally in property management.

Ana joined Haven in 2016 as PA/Office Manager. Her responsibilities include cash management control, general office administration and Personal Assistant duties as required.
