Chris Lathey – Managing Director
Chris has worked in the Gibraltar insurance industry for the past 18 years, firstly with Aon and then later focusing on personal lines insurers with a particular focus on motor. Chris has been involved with Haven from the very beginning back in 2002, has been Managing Director since 2008, and has been a key part of the management team driving the tremendous growth and success of the business over the years.
In his role as Managing Director, Chris has a key focus on delivering a fast, efficient and quality service to customers, good control over underwriting and claims management, and further enhancing the financial strength and reputation of the business.
Ingrid Harper – Regulatory Reporting & Company Secretary
Ingrid has over 30 years experience in the Gibraltar insurance industry, mainly dealing with financial and regulatory issues, as well as business development, management and holding various directorships.
She joined Haven in 2014 as Finance Manager to oversee all financial & regulatory functions of the business, but now focuses mainly on the regulatory functions.
Aoife Yeats – ACII Chartered Insurer - Head of Underwriting
After graduating with a degree in Business (majoring in Risk Management and Insurance) in 2012, Aoife relocated to Gibraltar and has spent the past 8 years working in the insurance industry. Following completion of the Aon graduate programme, Aoife gained experience in captive management, underwriting and business development.
She also completed her ACII exams in 2016 and is a council member on the Gibraltar Insurance Institute (GII).
Aoife joined Haven in 2017 as Head of Underwriting and oversees the underwriting functions of the business.
Jenny Lindeberg - Senior Underwriter
Jenny has been working in the Gibraltar insurance industry since 2016, gaining knowledge in a local insurance intermediary before joining Haven in January 2018. She achieved the Certificate in Insurance from the Chartered Insurance Institute in January 2018.
Jenny’s responsibilities include various underwriting projects and reports, product development, oversight and governance.
Kathleen Hirst - Junior Underwriter
Kathleen has been working in the insurance industry for over twenty years, gaining experience in both Personal Lines Insurance and the Business Insurance Sector in Glasgow. Since relocating to Gibraltar in 2013 Kathleen has focused on Motor Insurance Underwriting with local Gibraltarian Insurance Companies and joined Haven in July 2020.
Tanya Insawang - Underwriting Administrative Assistant
Prior to relocating to Gibraltar Tanya worked at an insurance intermediary in England for over six years, covering a wide range of insurance products and services. Tanya joined Haven as Underwriting Administrative Assistant in June 2022.
Tanya’s responsibilities include day to day underwriting administrative tasks.
Ana Stark – PA/Office Manager
After graduating with a degree in Economics (majoring in Accounting and Finance), Ana worked for the National Statistics Office in Poland for 7 years as an accountant, and she gained 10 years’ experience working in property management in Gibraltar.
She achieved the CIPD Level 3 Diploma in 2019 and is currently studying Psychology with Counselling.
Ana joined Haven in 2016 as PA/Office Manager. Her responsibilities include PA duties, cash management control and general office administration.
Rupert Hamilton-Walker- Head of Claims
Rupert has a background in high risk motor insurance claims, from managing his own team of handlers to specialist technical roles in both Personal Injury and Credit Hire.
Rupert has been part of Haven's claims supplier operation since 2009. He is responsible for managing and leading our claims projects, strategy and development programmes to ensure our claims handing is optimised and continuously improving. He also oversees Haven's various claims suppliers.
Tony Collins - Claims Development Manager
Tony has accumulated 25 years experience in the insurance industry and has worked managerial roles across all aspects of motor claims since 2008 but 5 years specifically in Gibraltar.
Tony was appointed as Claims Development Manager in November 2019 for Haven to oversee audits and ensure best practice for claims handling, continuously looking to improve.
Martin Clifton – Claims Auditor
Martin has a background of claims, specialising in counter fraud within the high risk motor insurance industry.
Martin has worked within the insurance industry since 2009 and as part of Haven’s claims supplier operation since 2011. Martin joined Haven at the start of 2017. He is responsible for overseeing Haven’s various claims suppliers and managing projects to enhance and optimise our claims handling.
Jo Hamilton-Walker - Quality Assurance Controller
Jo has over fifteen years’ experience within the insurance claims industry. Jo’s career has covered travel, healthcare and specialist motor claims and includes ten years within the credit hire industry.
Jo has been part of Haven’s claims supplier operation since 2008 and joined the claims team at Haven in 2019. Jo is responsible for executing supplier audits and ensuring excellent customer service is delivered throughout Haven and its supply chain. Jo is also responsible for claims complaints oversight, ensuring regulatory guidance is adhered to.
Iqbal Sandhu – Finance Director
Iqbal is a graduate from the University of Kent at Canterbury and an ACCA qualified accountant since 2001. He joined Haven in May 2022 and brings with him a wealth of Insurance sector experience having previously held a number of senior Finance leadership roles at both AXA and Capita over the past 22 years.
Colin Thompson - Head of Reinsurance and Investments
Colin has over 14 years of experience in the insurance sector and specifically in the Gibraltar market since 2012. Having previously worked for the company in a finance capacity, Colin returned to Haven in January 2019.
He is responsible for managing the investment and reinsurance functions of Haven.
Karl Pardo - Financial Controller
After graduating with a degree in Accounting & Finance at the University of Bath, Karl joined the “big four” accounting firm Deloitte. He qualified as a chartered accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) in 2020 and continued within the audit and assurance industry managing a variety of financial service audits.
Karl joined the finance team in 2022 as Financial Controller with a view to oversee the finance function and be responsible for the day-to-day reporting activities. Karl’s interests mainly reside in technology and automation which include system design and implementation.
Dylan Borrell - Management Accountant
Dylan graduated from the University of Liverpool with a degree in Engineering. Dylan is currently a student of ACCA with the aim to achieve accreditation soon.
Dylan previously worked at BDO as an Audit Associate involved in the audit of companies in various industries. He joined the finance team in 2022 as Management Accountant with a view to support the finance function.
Fiona Clifton - Head of Capital & Reserving
Fiona joined Haven in October 2022 to establish and lead the actuarial team. Her general insurance experience was gained during 11 years at RSA Insurance Group, where she was head of Reserving for UK Motor and Personal lines. Fiona is a qualified actuary with over 20 years of experience, including 13 years in pensions consultancy, and is one of the few actuaries to have a degree in Music.
Willem van Zyl - Senior Reserving Specialist
Willem joined Haven’s Actuarial team in March 2023. He is a part-qualified Actuary with more than 20 years of Reserving experience in both Life and General Insurance across the UK and South Africa. He joins from RSA Insurance Group where he led the Household and Pet Reserving team.
He is responsible for ResQ modelling, controls and various actuarial projects needed to support the business with its reporting requirements and to facilitate the making of informed decisions.
Nelson Gonçalves - Head of Compliance
Nelson joined Haven in October 2022 as Head of Compliance. He is responsible for developing and managing Haven’s compliance framework and ensuring Haven have efficient and operational governance, risk and compliance controls.
Nelson has a background in law and data protection, with over seven years of experience in the regulation, supervision and enforcement of data protection law in Gibraltar. He also has experience in the insurance industry, having previously worked with a local motor insurance company where he gained experience in the management of insurance claims.
