How we use your information
Some of the information we hold about you may be sensitive, such as claim or conviction history, we will treat this information in the strictest confidence and not use it except for the specific purpose for which you provide it.
All insurers pass information to the Claims and Underwriting Exchange Register, run by Insurance Database Services Ltd and the Motor Insurance Anti-Fraud and Theft Register, run by the Association of British Insurers. When we handle your request for insurance, upon renewal, or when we receive notification of an event or a claim, we may search these databases to help us check the information provided and to prevent fraudulent claims.
If false or inaccurate information is provided and fraud is identified, details will be passed to fraud prevention agencies to prevent fraud and money laundering. We also share information with the Motor Insurance Database (MID) managed by the Motor Insurers’ Bureau (MIB). - Electronic Licensing;
- Continuous Insurance Enforcement;
- Law enforcement (prevention, detection, apprehension and or prosecution of offenders);
- The provision of government services and or other services aimed at reducing the level and incidence of uninsured driving.
